INFRASTRUCTURE: NO MORE HEADS IN THE SAND

Archuleta's growth over the last 10 years has far exceeded the capacity of our legacy services. Our landfill is projected to be completely full in just a few more years, and there's no clear plan on how to address it. With the development and expansion of the Springs, our power grid is at full capacity. Water and sewer infrastructure to new buildings is similarly constrained - and the current administration proposes extreme fees for the home or business owners to bring these services to new building projects - commercial and residential alike.

WIth a combination of smart taxation, proper fiscal management and budget allocation, the use of federal and state programs - as well as a commitment to looking beyond the term limits of any one single candidate or administration, these problems can be addressed head-on.

Partisan politics and views, backroom deals and kickbacks, and kicking the can down the road have gotten us to this point. Ken is committed to working with his fellow commissioners and citizens to come up with the most viable solutions that do not leave investors or the residents paying exorbitant costs during construction.
